Guanajuato, Gto., Ocotober 10, 2016.- The Master degree in Water Science (MCA) taught at the Division of Engineering (DI) of the University of Guanajuato, has renewed its recognition in the National Program of Quality Postgraduates (PNPC) of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) in the summon of 2016 until 2020.
That is how Dr. José de Jesús Mora Rodríguez informed, professor at the Department of Geomatics and Hydraulic Engineering and MCA's coordinator, who was in charge of the process so the postgraduate could remain four more years in the National Program.
He reminded that the MCA began in 2001 with a professional orientation, and since 2007 is recognized by the PNPC, and with the recent renewal, its oriented to research with a restructured study plan and aligned to the current Educational Model of UG.
The objective of the master degree, he explained, is to form human resources with a high academic level, capable of planning, directing and carrying out projects emerged from pure and applied research, with sound knowledge in Water Science, that allows them to solve problems related with quality, aquifer exploitation, preservation, sanitation and water handling.
Likewise, orients the necessary attitudes and values for teaching and the promotion of a culture that guarantees sustainability of this vital resource; reason why, the graduates of this master degree, will promote scientific research, technology development and technological transfer to solve specific, regional and national problems regarding water.
Dr. Mora Rodríguez highlighted, that CONACYT through PNPC, recognizes the postgraduate programs in the different areas of knowledge that, by relevance of the results and operation, have basic academic corps, high graduation indexes, necessary infrastructure and high scientific, humanistic or technological productivity.
He said that the programs oriented to research, such is the case of MCA, allow the student to begin his scientific, humanistic or technological research, guided by a professor or researcher of their area; their research work generate new quality knowledge and the sufficient value to be accepted for their peers to present and/or publish the forums and international magazines of their specialty.
The MCA, being recognized by the PNPC allows its students to have exclusive dedication of full time with a maintenance scholarship during the years of the study. In addition, provides the economic support through a mix scholarship so the student can make a stay in a national or foreign institution to develop and academic activity as part of their postgraduate studies or to conclude their research project or thesis.
