León, Gto., October 13, 2016.- Health professionals, academics and students of the University of Guanajuato (UG) attended the L National Congress of Nephrology to train and exchange knowledge with a multidisciplinary focus to provide better attention to patients.

Such congress, began activities in the Polyforum Leon where international specialists from Spain, Venezuela, Italy and United States gathered to cover topics such as acute renal failure, dialytic therapies, renal transplant, diabetic nephropathy, primary attention of the renal patient, among others.

Dr. Daniel Pérez Cervantes, Director of Red Médica of the Maximum House of Studies issued a message in representation of Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, UG's General Rector, where he highlighted the importance of joining efforts to treat topics related with Nephrology with specialists of several health areas.

"There are great issues with public health and we need to give a comprehensive attention to the patient and offer new practices for the treatment and prevention of diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and prostate cancer", he commented.

The congress celebrates its fiftieth edition, it has 4 days of activities where master conferences, symposiums and workshops are programmed to enrich knowledge and share experiences to impact in the quality of life and improve the population's health.

The event gathers professionals and students of the degree in Medicine, Nutrition, Nursing and related areas.

Equally, the head of the Department of Health of the State of Guanajuato, Dr. Francisco Ignacio Ortíz Aldana, thanked the attendants and the experts that participate in the event, and highlighted the position that the state of Guanajuato has in the treatment of diseases that have as primary cause overweight and obesity.

In his message, he highlighted that the state is making from 72 to 75 kidney transplants, which represents a 10% of transplants in waiting list in the federal level.
