
Guanajuato, Gto., October 14, 2016.- With a project to determine the exact position of the Integrated Transport System Optibus, in the city of Leon, Maria Guadalupe Sotelo Serna, Physical Engineer student at the Division of Science and Engineering of Campus Leon, won the 11th edition of the contest of Creativity and Innovation, in the category of "Business Project: Project of Services."
The "Optimus Localization System" (SOPLO), works as a GPS to follow in actual time to the urbanely known "orugas", and determine where they are, their path and in what moment they will arrive to their destination.
The student explained that her project began as a final work in the subject Economic Engineering, and decided to continue working in it with the enthusiasm of making an enterprise that offers this service.
Guadalupe Sotelo said that the benefit of SOPLO, is that people will have a better control of the time to move in public transportation, and so, expedite their everyday activities. In addition, she considered that it contributes to sustainability, since by increasing the use of the "orugas", it will reduce the vehicle traffic and hence, the contaminant emissions.
On her participation in the Contest of Creativity and Innovation, he said that it allowed her to obtain the necessary tools to start their own business, but with a social support focus. "It is important that when we want to start something, we do it for the benefit of everyone, more than an economical benefit, seek social benefit", she pointed out.
With the prize money, Guadalupe Sotelo will finance the constitution of her business, where she will work together with her peers, César Cortes and Francisco Macías; in addition, she will begin the approach to corresponding authorities to begin the project.
