
Guanajuato, Gto., October 14, 2016.- Don Quijote, Sancho Panza, Dulcinea del Toboso and other characters took the Kiosk at the Union Garden in the city of Guanajuato, with the purpose to come out of the book's comfort and put their voices, dreams and adventures for everyone to reach in the 44th edition of the International Cervantine Festival (FIC).
That what "The knight of the illustrious reading" is about, a project supported by Campus Leon of the University of Guanajuato (UG) and FIC's Director, Jorge Volpi, and in charge of the professor at HS Guanajuato, M.A. Jesús Antonio Borja.
In front of children, teenagers and adults, the cultural promoter next to the actor Francisco Caballero Vértiz and other special guests, took the voice of the main characters of the founding novel of the Spanish American literature to set on stage some of the most important passages regarding peace, creams and honesty.
Since 2005, the also cultural promoter has had an important activity in the diffusion of the work of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. Feuilletons, breviaries, children's books, as well as reading in schools, plazas, parks and state prisons, have been some of the activities founded in the idea that reading the Quijote is fundamental to live better.
"Is wonderful to see how a person can be happy defeat after defeat, but what is most interesting is to fulfill the dreams of value and justice for all who is around him", said Jesús Antonio Borja.
Jesús Antonio Borja commented that next to the bible, Don Quijote de la Mancha is one of the books with more editions, translations and printings in the world; but also is the less read, hence, the highlighted the initiative of the FIC as from the University to help cover the Cervantine tradition of the city.
The professor currently has a project of Social Re-adaptation in the state of Guanajuato, through which he reads Don Quijote and other works in the name of the inmates.
It is important to mention that Radio Universidad of Guanajuato transmits the 365 days of the year, a 2-min capsule regarding Cervantes Saavedra and his work, as well as other national and international authors.
