
Guanajuato, Gto., October 14, 2016.- Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, Rector of Campus Guanajuato, manifested her greatest gratitude to all the university community of the Department of Architecture, who worked in achieving the accreditation of the degree in architecture from the National Accreditation of Programs of Architectures and Disciplines of the Habitable Space (ANPADEH).
Dr. Jesús Jiménez Jiménez, ANPADEH's President, who during a ceremony held with students and scholars from the Department, handed the record of the accreditation of the program of the degree in Architecture, valid since 2016 and until 2021 and, in his message, highlighted that the accreditation of the organism he presides has an international feature.
Hence, he invited to give a space for socialization of the highest level to the accreditations of all the evaluation processes in Mexico, because they fulfill national and international criteria to recognize the educational quality and allows to be hand to hand with any educational program in the world, he said.
On the accreditation of the degree in Architecture by ANPADEH, M.A. Jorge Enrique Cabrejos Moreno, Director of the Department of Architecture, reminded that there was the commitment to fulfill the Continuous Improvement Plan, assumed since June 1st 2016 until June 30th 2021 and that the scholars of the internal Committee will follow up.
The masters that integrated the internal committee of accreditation who received an award were: Teresa Campuzano, Dra. Gloria Cardona Benavides, Dr. Miguel Ángel García, Dr. Alejandro Guzmán, Dr. Claudia Hernández, Dr. Esteban Hernández, Arq. Martha Matehuala, Dr. Norma Mejía, Dr. Elia Ordaz, C.P.A Patricia Regalado & Ma. Eugenia Rodríguez.
M.A. Cabrejos informed, that un June this year, from the program of Architecture have graduated, 3,501 students; from which 2,428 are men and 1,083 are women, and together complete a total of 58 generations and, this year, the students from the class of 66' reached 50 years of graduation. From that generation, 2,664 have their title, it means, a 60.78%, one of the highest title indexes at UG.
At the Ceremony was M.A. Martín Aguilera Morales, Director of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design, who offered an emotional message where he remembered the history and the main characters of this important educational program that today has an international recognition.
It was in that framework that Dr. Marina Ines de la Torre, coordinator of the Ph.D. in Architecture, revealed that the academic program –the Ph.D.—has been promoted to an international competence level, maximum recognition a postgraduate can obtain and so it becomes in the only doctorate in architecture with international competition in all national territory.
He explained that since 2003 there was an alliance between universities in the center-west region that joined resources and competencies to offer a doctorate program of high quality, pioneer in their genre: The Interinstitutional Program of Architecture Ph.Ds. (PIDA), which was promoted in this renovation process.
