Irapuato, Gto., October 18, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato (UG), paired with several foundations and higher education institutions, served as a witness of the Sectorial Alliance for Social Development and the signing of the collaboration agreement for social and human development, between the Community Foundation of the Bajío A.C., the Association of General Directors of Businesses in the Industrial Park Castro del Río A.C. and from the Department of Human and Social Development.
The state governor, Miguel Márquez Márquez, signed as an honor witness of the agreement between the main characters, that parted from a diagnosis in the communities of the Ex-Hacienda de Márquez, La Calera, Lo de Juárez, Taretan, Purísima del Progreso and Peñitas, communities where the Community Foundation has worked with the inhabitants during the year.
From the University of Guanajuato, signed as a witness, Dr. Armando Gallegos Muñoz, Rector of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, representing Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, as well as representatives of other higher education institutions.
The General Director of the Community Foundation of the Bajío, Adriana Cortés Jiménez, highlighted that this multisector alliance will set a precedent for the continuity of the work aimed for local development in surrounding communities to industrial parks. This strategic alliance comes working from civil society and in this way it strengthens a methodology of integration of the diverse actors for the community wellbeing.
The Community Foundation of the Bajío was founded on October 7, 1997, in the city of Irapuato. It is a non-profit association that works to propitiate the local development in communities that have serious access problems to basic services, infrastructure and generally lack opportunities for economic development. It attention axes are economic development, social development, education, environment and health.
In this great alliance were present David Pascual Alemany, Asociación de Directores Generales de Empresas del Parque Industrial Castro del Río A.C.; Angie Ruíz González, President de la Asociación Civil Redsumarse of Nuevo León; Leslie Pamela Cervantes Pérez, inhabitant of the ex-hacienda of Márquez; Diego Sinhué Rodríguez Vallejo, Secretary of Social and Human Development; Guillermo Romero Pacheco, Secretary of Sustainable Economic Development; the municipal president of Irapuato Ricardo Ortiz Gutiérrez, among other guests with state and municipal order.
