
Más de la mitad de sus Profesores de Tiempo Completo son miembros del SNI.
Guanajuato, Gto., October 25, 2016.- Due to the reason of entering, permanence and promotion of level of 169 professors in the National Researchers System (SNI), as well as their re-entry and 218 professors obtaining the recognition of Professor with Desirable Profile (PRODEP), the University of Guanajuato celebrated the strengthening of is community and academic quality.
At a national level, UG is the second state university with many full-time professors (PTC) who are members of the SNI, with a 51%, which is more than the largest higher education institution of the country has, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM); where the 33% of their PTCs belong to the SNI.
To the community of professors, directors, teachers and researchers, UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, commented that today, the University has 453 members in the SNI, which is equal to the 51% of their PTCs, placing it under the Universidad Autónoma de Morelos (64%) and head to head with the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosi (51%).
He applauded the achievement reached by all the professors, by fulfilling an objective that some years ago was barely imaginable, and added that such results are a solid proof that the University of Guanajuato is one of the educational institutions with greater academic capability and quality in the national and state level.
On his part, Dr. Mauro Napsuciale Mendivil, Director of Support to Research and Postgraduate, detailed that the University has 608 Professors with Desirable Profile, which places the school as the third state university, with the 67% of its PTCs.
Regarding the local context, commented the researcher, UG has the human resource to generate new knowledge, innovate in processes and generate new productive paradigms in the state.
Finally, he called the guest researchers to reflect on the role and responsibility they have as researchers and educators, at the universities and the actual society needs.
"Hence, the Direction of Support to Research and Postgraduate, in collaboration with the campus, we will start an intensive communication program, where we invite everyone to collaborate, so we can make justice to UG's academic status and allow the society know and feedback what is being generated inside their classrooms," he finalized.
