
León, Guanajuato OCtober 25, 2016.- In the framework of the World Day of the Audiovisual Heritage instated by UNESCO to be celebrated on October 27th, as well as to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the creation of the laboratory of Interpretative Audiovisual Ethnography (ETNOAI) of the University of Guanajuato (UG) Campus León, there was the presentation of the First ETNOAI Festival "Globetrotters" to be held from October 27th to November 24 in different forums of the city of Leon.
The first ETNOAI festival pretends to create awareness on the importance of generating, preserving, divulging and researching the preservation of the audiovisual heritage in different contexts and social actors.
Its coordinator and founder, Dr. Maricruz Romero Ugalde, full-time professor-researcher of the Department of Social Studies, referred that this laboratory has the main objective to make scientific research with signified results through the cinematographic language, to give proof of the richness in the country regarding megadiversity. "Our main challenge is to make the cinematographic language a mean of expression of anthropology."
The project of interpretative audiovisual ethnography of the University of Guanajuato, is a liaison between the science and art, the reason and emotion of three aspects: human development, service and legacy in audiovisual memory. From its creation in the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities of Campus Leon,120 high school, college and postgraduate students, professors and researchers have trained, and have generated productions to publicly divulge 36 audiovisual subjects from which stand out: "Sacred medicine. Temazcalli", "Malabar 1, 2, 3", "Baking tradition. La Rosita", "Love and Danzón. On the brain's rhythm", "Men of mud" and "Run the Morisma", among others.
The activities will begin this October 27th with a projection in the Center of Scientific and Technological Studies No. 17 (CECyT 17-IPN); afterwards, on November 3, another documentary will be presented in the Montessori Chiaravalle School in elementary and middle school. On November 9, at the Café "El refugio del barro"; for the 10th, at the church of St. John Baptiste located in the community of San Juan de Otates in Leon, Guanajuato.
On the 11th, at Campus Leon of the University of Guanajuato, venue San Carlos, during the Journeys of Anthropology Students; the 17th in the Community Desarrollo Impulsa, A.C. and finally on November 24th in the Cultural Center KinoRoom.
