
Guanajuato, Gto., October 24, 2016. With the purpose to generate and integrate interinstitutional collaboration contributions in projects that contribute to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the higher education system in the country, from October 27 to 29 is held at the University of Guanajuato (UG) the Reunion of Comprehensive Planning of Higher Education, of the Country's West Region.
At the opening ceremony, the Academic Secretary of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Raúl Arias Lovillo, representing the General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, highlighted that this encounter gathers the experts in higher education of the country, and their continuous work will allow to define the main challenges that the higher education institutions face.
The reunion is an initiative of the Department of Public Education and had the presence of the General Director of the College Higher Education from the Sub-secretary of Higher Education, Dr. Salvador Malo Álvarez, who dictated the event's opening ceremony, where he made a story of the topics developed in the six reunions before the work and main topics that will be addressed in these three days.
During the encounter, there are plenary sessions with the participation of rectors and college functionaries responsible of the planning of higher education institutions from the states of Aguascalientes, Colima, Guanajuato and Michoacán, as well as state and federal functionaries related with the development of higher education.
The work sessions have the objective to agree and concrete the most urgent and with greater impact interinstitutional collaboration projects in the regional level, as well as develop an exercise of review and contribution of impacts indexes and follow up of the Comprehensive Planning of Higher Education.
The purpose is for the federal and state educational authorities to reflect joint and deliberately with the educational institutions on the –present and future—situation of the Mexican higher education.
In this way, they seek to increment the effectiveness of the learning in all the levels of higher education, renew the educational programs in the framework of the new pedagogic models, considering diverse learning routes and incorporate teaching strategies backed in digital technology.
To the main event also attended the sub-secretary of Higher Education of the Department of Innovation, Science and Higher Education of the State of Guanajuato, M.A. René Jaime Rivas; UG's Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa; the Rector of Campus León, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez and from Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, Dr. Armando Gallegos Muñoz; such as the Director of Planning at UG, M.A. Josefina Ortiz Medel.
