Guanajuato, Gto., November 1, 2016.- With the commitment to work transversally and in link with other institutions, university authorities, appointed M.A. Diego León Rábago as Coordinator of the Center of Studies and Actions for the Social and Human Development at the University of Guanajuato (UG).

UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, highlighted that there are no backgrounds of a coordinated work of this type, which has the diversity of profiles that enrich the project and will develop in three main axes: heritage, sustainable community development, and bioethics.

He reiterated the institutional support towards the initiative and reaffirmed the commitment for this Center to be a referent on how UG can innovate in models of academic organization, without altering the established institutional order. He invited everyone who collaborate in such Center to work transversally and in liaison with other institutions.

M.A. Diego León, thanked the trust to develop this task, which, he said, represents a new challenge, to which he committed to work together for the proper functioning. He added that they are already working to offer new proposals to be of great social impact that generate a greater link with society.

M.A. Diego León Rábago is a lawyer and public accountant by the University of Guanajuato. He has worked as Director of the Department of Studies of Culture and Society of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities of Campus Guanajuato of UG, Director and Academic Secretary of the Center of Humanistic Research of UG, among other activities and functions within the maximum house of studies.

In addition, he is a member and founder of the State Commission of Medical Arbitrage, member of the State Commission of Bioethics, as well as the First President of the Chapter Guanajuato of the National Mexican Academy of Bioethics, Number Member of the National Mexican Academy of Bioethics and advisor of the Student Seminar of Bioethics of the University of Guanajuato.
