They'll offer two presentations: the first on the stairway of the University of Guanajuato and another at the Teatro Principal.
Guanajuato, Gto., November 8, 2016.- With two presentations in the state capital, the members of the "Polyphonic Ensemble of Guanajuato" will seek to please the listeners with functions they'll offer at the stairway of the University of Guanajuato (UG) and in the Teatro Principal.
Formed since 2014, the Polyphonic Ensemble Guanajuato, answers the constant need to divulge the select music of periods such as Baroque, Classical and Contemporary interpreted by a basic dotation of two violins, viola, violoncello and counter bass, nevertheless, is not a limit, because it can be included as in this program, other instruments, may they be percussion or wind instruments.
For this presentation, they will play the String Quintet No. 4 in G minor, op. 17 of George Onslow (1784 – 1853), prolific composer who wrote 83 opuses, and even when he wrote four symphonies and three operas, it was in chamber music where fundamentally developed his composer career: a nonet, a septet, and sextet for piano and breath, nine sonnets for piano and violin, 34 string quintets.
The Quintet in G minor op. 17, the fourth production of Onslow, was composed in 1821 and has four movements: Allegro espressivo, ma non troppo moderato; Menuetto: Allegro, Andante cantabile, and Finale: Allegro vivace.
Written for two violins, viola and two violoncellos, his publication, next to the Quintets op. 5 & 6, established Onslow's reputation in Germany as a chamber music composer in the first row.
Likewise, they'll premiere the composition "El aire del agua" from the Mexican composer and pianist graduated from the University of Guanajuato, Adalberto Tovar, play written for piccolo, string quintet and multi-percussion. Which, in words of the author, "is based on its esthetic principles and significance in the homonymous poem of the French thinker and writer André Bréton."
Adalberto Tovar, whose search "consists in a constant sound exploration and the intention to commune vanguard with the expressive", has made several academic activities with important musicians, such as Mario Lavista, Ana Lara, Héctor Quintanar, Alejandro Viñao, Markus Stockhausen, Mike Svoboda, Irvin Arditti, among others. Their music has been interpreted in different scenarios, such as the International Cervantine Festival, the "Echoes and Sounds of Guanajuato" Festival, and the "Encounter of Scenic Arts of FONCA".
To close the program, they will interpret the string quintet no. 2 in G major, op. 77, B. 49 of Antonin Dvořák, written for a string quartet and a counter bass, presents the four traditional movements, but with a slow movement in third place.
Antonín Dvořák, who was educated in the German tradition with role models such as Beethoven and Schubert, begins his catalogue of plays for strings only with the quintet (with two violas) in A minor, op. 1, and the quartet in A major, op. 2, both submitted to inherited patterns. The later approach to the romantic vanguard featured by Wagner and Liszt will be the cause of new musical experiences and of one personal crisis. After they will open a new expressive freedom and formal clarity.
Héctor Hernández Pérez, violin; Delia Yessica Pamela Melgar Blancas, violin; Carlos Miguel Toc Polanco, viola; Luis Barajas Bermejo, violoncello; Jorge Preza, counter bass; Beatrice Anabel OValle Ortega, piccolo; Jorge Arturo Preza Ortíz, percussions; members of the Polyphonic Ensemble of Guanajuato, possess a traditional academic formation and wide experience in diverse musical genders, for being part of numerous groups such as: chamber music, duets, trios, and Symphonic Orchestra.
The group of soloists of UG will present on Thursday November 10 at 20:00 in the stairway thanks to the collaboration of the Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato and Espiral, University Forum. While on Friday November 11, the appointment is at 20:30 at the Teatro Principal.
