León, Gto., November 10, 2016.- Discuss vanguard topics and analyze the role of the anthropologist in the society, are some of the topics analyzed at Campus Leon of the University of Guanajuato (UG), in the first edition of the journeys of Social Anthropology.
With the topic, "The Anthropology we are building", specialists and students from the UG, Universidad de Zacatecas, Universidad de San Luis Potosí, HS Leon and some students from the Division of Health Sciences gathered.
In addition, they have considered to make an ethnographic-photo show, workshops and concerts.
In his intervention, UG's professors, Dr. Ivy Jacaranda Jasso Martínez, addressed topics such as the role of the anthropologist in society, the needs of the region and the state, as well as the process to redesign the degree in Anthropology within the University, which seeks a larger influence in society.
During the dialogue tables, the students exposed their research linked to the culture of commerce in the local markets in Leon, jobs that seek to solve the problem of public transport that the university community faces and the situation in archeological zones that exist in the state.
The representative of RENECA (National Network of Anthropological Sciences) Delegation Guanajuato, Osmar Xavier Villalobos Cristerna, student of the 9th semester of Social Anthropology, remarked that the first journeys seek to concrete a dialogue network of the anthropological sciences.
The program continues until Friday November 11 with dialogue tables, workshops, two master conferences, a documentary and musical presentations. The program can be consulted at www.ugto.mx/campusleon
