Silao, Gto., November 11, 2016. As part of the actions to make the perspective of gender transversal at the University of Guanajuato, directors of the General Rectory, from the four university campuses and High Schools attended the courses given by specialists of the prestigious Leadership Institute Simone de Beauvoir.

The Course of High Formation in Gender Equality is designed to offer the participants theoretical-conceptual tools that allow the encouragement the incorporation of gender equality in the programs and institutional culture.

The conceptual bases, the perspective of gender and their importance in the institutional ambiance, the regulatory framework and its pertinence in academic institutions, the criteria to encourage an organizational culture with gender perspective and human rights at the University of Guanajuato, among other topics were analyzed.

With this training, they pretend to generate, from the positions of leaderships, strategies that help construct a policy of equality in the Maximum House of Studies of the State, implement actions so "UGénero" institutionalizes and permeates in all the community.

The university functionaries divided in three groups, the first of them took the course last October, and directors from General Rectory and High School College were present, as well as the Secretaries and Rectories from the House of Studies.

In the second session, which was held on November 10, were present: UG's Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa; the Coordinator of the Committee of Equity and Gender, Dr. Cirila Cervera Delagao; the Director of the Medical Network, Dr. Daniel Pérez Cervantes; the Coordinator of the Institutional Program of Gender Equality, M.A. Abraham Serrato Guzmán, members of the team UGénero, representatives from the syndical associations and directors of the different division of UG, among other members of the university community.

The last session of this course, was oversaw by M.A. Marta Clara Ferreyra Beltrán, member of the Leadership Institute Simone de Beauvoir and Secretary of Equity and Gender of the University program of Gender Studies of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

Attended: The Director of Planning, M.A. Josefina Ortiz Medel; Attorney General of the University of Guanajuato, M.A. Mauricio Alejandro Murillo de la Rosa; Directors of Division and High Schools, professors, students and administrators.

At the course, M.A. Ferreyra exposed how the process has been institutionalized from a culture of gender at UNAM and remarked that the University is at a very important moment of its history, so she offered her knowledge and experience to support the implementation of policies that favor equality.

La organización que estuvo a cargo del curso, el Instituto de Liderazgo Simone de Beauvior, ha trabajado a lo largo de 16 años en la construcción de una sociedad democrática y justa a través del conocimiento y la formación de liderazgos sociales con perspectiva de género, derechos e interculturalidad.
