León, Gto., November 12, 2016.- With the intention to reaffirm the commitment with society and emphasize the work from the agents of change that intervene in the humanistic formation of society, the University of Guanajuato handed the title as honorary professor to Dr. Enrique Ruelas Barajas, considered an authority in the medical subject.

Dr. Enrique Ruelas began his relation with the University of Guanajuato since his childhood though his father, Lic. Enrique Ruelas Espinosa, creator of the "Entremeses Cervantinos", which constitute the background of the International Cervantine Festival (FIC).

The ceremony was held at Campus Leon venue San Carlos, in a ceremony led by Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, and Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez, Rector of Campus Leon.

During his intervention, the General Rector emphasized that this act inaugurates a modality of great transcendence for the academic development of the institution, "granting the honorary professor to Dr. Enrique Ruelas means to propitiate diverse alternatives to strengthen our faculty, because, that will happen when we incorporate Dr. Ruelas, we will optimize his talent as we have been doing not only in the academic ambience but also in the university management."

In his message, Dr. Ruelas described his life parting from a day of his childhood and the daily coexistence on the effects of the social and political processes that are currently lived and highlighted that more than seeking promotion and prevention of health, you must think in creating it. He invited all who was present to think in a health system where the patient is more a person than a sick person.

On his part, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez described the honorary professor as a virtuous man and an outstanding professional of the area, but mainly as an excellent friend and human being. He reminded that twenty years ago they worked in creating the Medical Network.

Dr. Ruelas was accompanied by friends and family and a nurtured group of academic and administrative personnel.
