León, Gto., November 12, 2016.- Dr. Rebeca Monroy Torres, from the Division of Health Sciences of the University of Guanajuato (UG), was one of the academics acknowledged in the ceremony "Distinguished Collegiate professional and distinguished college 2016", event organized by the Department of Education of Guanajuato (SEG).

M.A. Hugo Ortega Durán, President of the School of Nutritionists of the State of Guanajuato, M.A. Maritza López Vázquez, President of the School of Nutrionists of Leon and Dr. Rebeca Monroy Torres, founder of the Laboratory of Environmental Nutrition and Food Safety (LANAySA), were distinguished with the award in the category of Distinguished College, acknowledgement that is given to State Colleges members of the Council of Professionals in the State of Guanajuato (COPREG) that actively participate in the period 2015-2016.

This recognition seeks to strengthen the development of professional practices based on ethics, honesty, under an organization and collaboration model to reflect the social improvements in the community, as well as to watch the professional practice and the active participation that is now ruled under the Law of Professions for the State of Guanajuato which started on 2006.

The head of the Department of Education of the State of Guanajuato, Ing. Eusebio Vega Pérez, highlighted the active and engaged participation that the colleges of professionals have had, as well as the labor of the collegiate professionals where in their professional exercise seek the benefit of society.

At the ceremony, were also awarded distinguished professionals in three areas: research, outstanding professional exercise and professional career.

To the event attended Dr. Salvador Hernández Castro, Director of Liaison at the University of Guanajuato, representing the General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino.
