Guanajuato, Gto., November 14, 2016.- According the summon issued by the University of Guanajuato (UG) and the company "Urbanizadora del Bajío S.A. de C.V." (UBSA), through the Direction of Liaison, students and professors inscribed in the period Jan-Dec 2016 could participate.
The prize UBSA 2016 recognizes the participation of the college students in social impact projects, innovation projects with social benefit and social entrepreneurship projects.
The prize consists in a trip to Madrid, Valencia and Bilbao, Spain; from November 21 to 30 of the present year and the attendance of the Program of Immersion in Spain, where the winning professors and the students will be able to interact with entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, professionals, and/or directors of the main companies of social economy, and institutions of social impact; such as researchers and academics of successful universities in Madrid and Valencia. The objective is to support them in their continuous improvement process and reward their commitment with the values, to make Mexico a better country.
In the summon, participated 15 professors and 38 students; the profile of the participants was, among others, the proven human excellence (morality, integrity and honesty in their actions), through their trajectory, and as proactive, creative and innovative agents. Likewise, their leadership, global and comprehension vision to the future and their high commitment of accomplishment.
From the evaluation made by the Committee, the winners were, in the category of professors, Dr. Nicolas Padilla Raygoza of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery of the Division of Health Sciences and Engineering of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, and in the category of students, Jorge Alfonso Tavares Negrete, student of the degree in Biomedical Engineering of the Division of Sciences and Engineering of Campus Leon. Both outstood for their innovative contributions, human excellence and the great work done in benefit of others.
The award ceremony will be done, in a ceremony within the event of the UBSA's 45th anniversary, on November 19, 2016, at Teatro Juárez in Guanajuato City.
