Yuriria, Gto. November 22, 2016.- The venue Yuriria of the University of Guanajuato reaches seven years of encouraging multidisciplinary studies at South State and represent a quality strength for Campus Irapuato – Salamanca.

Historically, the youth from the south state went to other cities or states for their higher education, until the extension of the public University was inaugurated on November 25, 2009 at Yacatitas, although with previous academic activity at the HS Lázaro Cárdenas at the city of Yuriria.

Initially, it offered Engineering academic programs, to which they were adding administrative programs and humanities, new postgraduates of recent creation that are renowned for their quality.

In addition to the academic doing, the Campus through the venue Yuriria seeks to serve society through the Council of Social Participation of the Southeast, where different sectors of the city participate, highlighted the Rector of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, Dr. Armando Gallegos Muñoz, during the ceremony of the 7th anniversary of the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies.

As a guest of honor, Dr. Arturo Lara López, Secretary of Innovation, Science and Higher Education (SICES) of the State of Guanajuato, spoke about the ideal with which he conceived the south venue when he was General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, and how the proven quality and the enrollment increase was fundamental to obtain the necessary support in their negotiations.

He remembered that in 2003 there was a greater social awareness in the university to provide more coverage, and with the results in coverage and quality, received a large support to grow the Physics plant of the University of Guanajuato.

Besides the memories of the process that led to the creation of the Department, the head of the SICES dictated the conference "The system of Innovation of the State of Guanajuato" before professors, students and representatives of the cities of the influence zone, as well as the Director of the Division of Engineering, Dr. Victor Ayala Ramírez and the Director of Department, Dr. Eduardo Cabal Yépez.

The festivity program included expos at the city's downtown so the society could know the scientific and technological doing of the venue and the contribution of the multidisciplinary studies, in addition of cultural activities for the general audience.
