Guanajuato, Gto., November 19, 2016. The University of Guanajuato (UG) prepares the Third Encounter of Sustainability and Culture in the Sierra Gorda of Guanajuato "Tres Biznagas", event with the purpose to generate collaboration relationships and exchange of knowledge, for the rescue, preservation and improvement of the conditions of human life and eco-systemic biodiversity, in the northeastern region of the state.
From November 24-26, there will be diverse activities to share knowledges that help improve the quality life in the region, besides knowing the uneasiness, opportunities and expectations of the people, they'll dialogue with public functionaries on the zone's problems and will establish collaboration agreements between UG and inhabitants.
Likewise, the Encounter of Sustainability will allow to know the richness of the zone and generate in UG research, innovation works and develop theses that have Sierra Gorda as a topic.
Through workshops, conferences, expos and documentaries, among other activities, will address topics as diverse as reforestation and forest handling, cultural heritage, preservation of ecosystems, rural tourisms; rescue, preservation and improvement of archeological zones, community development, negotiation and citizen participation; adaptability and prevention before climate change; urban planning and healthy nourishment with regional focus, among others.
The event is organized by the Program of Environmental Handling and Sustainability at UG, with support from the Interdisciplinary Center of the Northwest of the University of Guanajuato (CINUG), the Museum of Natural History Alfredo Dugés, the Nana Ubó Sierra Gorda Association AC., the Reserve of the Biosphere of the Sierra Gorda of Guanajuato and the Fund of Indigenous Culture.
In the Third Encounter of Sustainability and Culture in the Sierra Gorda of Guanajuato "Tres Biznagas", also has the support from the cities of Xichú, San Luis de la Paz, Victoria and Dr. Mora.
The opening ceremony will be held on November Thursday 24 at 11:00hrs, at CINUG's facilities, located in the city of Tierra Blanca.
