Celaya, Gto. November 17, 2016.- With the purpose to analyze the poverty and migration in the Sierra Gorda of Guanajuato, there was a seminar called "Landscapes of the Sierra Gorda of Guanajuato". To the academic journey attended researchers from three national universities and representatives of the National Commission of Protected Areas.

In the activity organized by Dr. Miriam Reyes, professor at Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, each time presented their progress in research; analyzed several municipalities of the zone to comprehend the problems of the population and seek strategies to solve them.

For Dr. Reyes, the Sierra Gorda has a large potential of territory, the settlers in the region have survived and live well, because they have schools, clinics, transport, in addition to being attached and have identity with their land, which represent a rupture of models, you would have to rethink what live well means, she proposed.

Sierra Gorda is a surface with different geological conditions, where the landscape stands out, and it is important to preserve its ecosystem and their resources, such as water, since it implies to conserve the vegetable cover, slopes, soil, the protection of the same and an opportunity that it has it is already a declared zone as a Protected Natural Area, explained Dr. Jesús Arturo Muñiz, from the Michoacan University.

The strategies that have developed the settlers in the cities, the mobility, their moving and how the impact has been in their cultural, economic and social processes has been is interesting, added Dr. Miguel Ángel Paz from the University of Guadalajara since this information once it is contrasted, will help generate strategies for a deeper vision and plant intervention programs that will help to redesign public policies.

For the National Commission of Protected Areas, Sierra Gorda is a protected area for its Reserve of the biosphere, the protected regions is 20,036,800 hectares, covering 199 localities with more than 20,000 inhabitants and their primary activity is the conservation of the resources, promote the sustainable development of the community.

To conclude, M.A. Luis Felipe Vázquez, of the National Commission of Protected Areas said that he would like to work with the University of Guanajuato as an agreement, due to the lack of scientific research in the region and there is a lot to do in the area.
