Guanajuato, Gto., November 16, 2016.- Students from the Division of Law, Politics and Government (DDPG) at the University of Guanajuato (UG) were recognized for their effort and results of the semester during the award ceremony for Excellence and Academic Merit.

UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino extended a congratulation to who received the "Prize to M.A. Antonio Torres Gómez" and the "Prize to M.A. Cuauhtémoc Ojeda Rodríguez", acknowledgement that homage two college personalities whose contributions helped what today is the University of Guanajuato.

Likewise, he sustained that UG is a space in which diverse profiles congregates and respect must be privileged, hence, he exhorted all the university community to perform with responsibility and commitment to maintain the Maximum House of Studies as the best educational and cultural project of the state.

The students C. Itzel Estefanía Meléndez Romero, from the degree in Law; C. Yolanda Corral González, from the degree in Public Management; and C. Ignacio Duarte Escalera, from the degree in Political Science, thanked the distinction obtained representing their peers.

Representing the Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, the Legal Liaison of Campus, M.A. Miguel Ángel Cervantes, mentioned that this event is an opportunity to recognize the sum of all efforts from the students and their families.

At the same time, the director of DDPG, Dr. Eduardo Pérez Alonso, reaffirmed its commitment to establish the best indicators in matter of academic excellence and highlighted the labor from who was recognized, of who integrates the Division, and all the university voices.

It is worthy to mention that the ceremony for the Academic Excellence is the celebration where they recognize the effort for the academic performance of the best averages of the three degrees taught at this Division, as well as the postgraduate educational programs.

They also included the Academic Merit, recognition granted for students who have had an outstanding performance in activities such as contests, workshops, special mentions, etc., which, in this edition, was delivered to the Oral Litigation Team, winners in contests in cities such as Washington, US and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

At the ceremony were present: DDPG's Academic Secretary, Dr. Ricardo Rodríguez Luna; the Director of the Department of Public Management, Dr. Fernando Díaz Pérez; and the Director of the Department of Political Studies and Government, Dr. Carlos Román Cordourier Real.
