León, Gto., November 16, 2016.- With the purpose to join the commemoration of the 55 years of instauration of the social service in the University of Guanajuato, students of the Division of Sciences and Engineering at Campus Leon and members of the theater group Ica Paquiliztli, presented the work "The world of Alice", which has the finality to divulge the scientific know how through a fun and didactic set on stage that includes from experiments to a juggler.

On the matter, Patricia Gutiérrez, student of the third semester of the degree in Physics and member of the theater group Ica Paquiliztli shared her experience: "We bring workshops to schools, to children. We make scientific experiments and try to explain them so it's understandable for them", and added that it helps a lot to try and explain things in an easy way for all audiences.

On her part, Lic. Fátima Pacheco, Coordinator of Social Service of Campus, pointed out that the intention is to be in concordance with the institutional mission of the University of Guanajuato, which is the student's comprehensive formation. For the student to form in the practical and the emotional, "it is about receiving and giving", she said.

She commented that the role of the social service is that everything the student learns, takes it to practice in their space, to be also a contribution to its curriculum and continues to add to its cultural baggage and educational so their formation is comprehensive.

During the semester, August-December 2016 the total number of students who gave their professional social service at Campus Leon were 2,239 students from the Division of Health Sciences, 437 from the Division of Sciences and Engineering and 743 students of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Some of the institutions where the youth lend their services are: hospitals, government dependencies, art galleries, civil associations and private companies. Some, as the case of the engineering and sciences students, they can complete their social service making research in the Center of Research in Optics (CIO) with the necessary material provided by the same university.
