
Guanajuato, Gto., November 24, 2016.- Imagination, expression and memory. Three keywords that join the work from students of the Department of Visual Arts of the University of Guanajuato (UG) and students from the Faculty of Bellas Artes of the University of Costa Rica (UCR) in tow expos of engraving that compose "Confluencias."
The Gallery "Hermenegildo Bustos" embraces the exhibitions "Trazo Incisivo" and "Album de Grabado Costarricense de Artistas Emergentes 2014-2015", with the objective to value young artist, contrast their perspectives with the inhabitants of other regions and find links that allow a more human development.
In the first expo, "Trazo Incisivo", we found the work from the host artsits Olimpia Osorio, Pamela D'Liz, Ana Nava, Kisha Lara, Ge Yépez, Paulina Romero, Sergio Granados, F. Valdez, Álvaro Almanza, Max Álvarez and Jorge H. Aldama.
This expo presents the work of young engravers in development, who feed from the personal and social experience and exploit the character, origin and spread of possibilities presenting critical works that leave no room for esthetic inquiry.
The "Álbum de Grabado Costarricense de Artistas Emergentes 2014-2015", on its part, is the exhibit of the South American students Mariano Arias, Alejandro Porras, Vicente Alpizar, Alonso Umaña, Priscilla Camacho, Paula Sandí, Karina Siliézar, Karen Olsen Yu, Pedro Arce, Francisco Hernández, Alber Chinchilla, Laura Ramírez, Jorge Zamorán, Juliana Chaverrí, Sebastián Quirós, Verónica Navarro, David París, Marian Estrada, and Catalina Flores.
Here, the young artists nurture from the work of previous generations and show us distinct scenarios of Costa Rica, where coexist characters, animals, landscapes and fantastic worlds that, with humor and grace intertwine creating new histories.
The engravers expressed their dreams and experiences and behave as wizards in time, who don't conform "with the surface, we change it, even backwards and over."
Both exhibits are presented through the Direction of Cultural Extension of the University of Guanajuato and can be visited from November 24, 2016 to January 13, 2017.
