Guanajuato, Gto., November 25, 2016. With the purpose to visualize and articulate the work from the female academics that distinguish for making research from an including view, the book "Perspectiva de género en la práctica educativa de la Universidad de Guanajuato. Aproximaciones feministas" was presented; coordinated by Dr. Vanessa Góngora Cervantes and M.A. Rosalba Vázquez Valenzuela.

The work, edited by the University of Guanajuato (UG), seeks to inspire new perspectives of teaching, research and activism, exposed Dr. Góngora, who also participated as an author of one of the texts.

Social processes such as migration, addressed from a feminist perspective; a critical review of the work of municipal instances of attention to women and an analysis of public policies from the perspective of gender are some of the topics addressed by the female academics at UG in the text.

They also write about violence against women in their relationships and their cultural legalization; the relation feminism-anthropology, historical approximations to feminism and intersectionality of gender, ethnic/race, occupation and nationality in the academic production of the University of Guanajuato.

Dr. Góngora remarked that this work achieved to gather the works done from the four UG campuses, because in addition of the texts, they included "Las Miques", an awarded visual proposal of students and graduates of the degree in Digital Arts, which was projected during the presentation of the book.

The book includes texts from Yessica Ivet Cienfuegos Martínez; Rocío Corona Azanza, Teodora Hurtado Saa, Ivy Jacaranda Jasso Martínez, Marilú León Andrade, Ericka López Sánchez, Rocío Rosas Vargas, Abril Saldaña Tejeda, Vanessa Góngora Cervantes, y Rosalba Vázquez Valenzuela, academics at different university campuses, who feature for making research with gender perspective.

When speaking about the book, during the presentation in Guanajuato, Dr. Abril Saldaña sustained that feminism is still fighting for its right to intervene in the political life, and the book confronts the idea that you cannot have academy if you're an activist. Feminism, she argued, is an epistemological and political matter.

Dr. Ericka López, one of the authors and commentators, referred to the book, that it addresses diverse topics but the gender focus is present in all of them.

As a commentator, was also present M.A. Verónica Vázquez, who sustained that a university who reproduces the schemes of domination misses the critical thinking, therefore, invited all the students to reflect on what they are being taught and from what perspective.

The researcher recognized that there still a lot to do so feminism can be recognized as a philosophy, theory and activism, however, she highlighted that UG is taking important steps to incorporate the gender perspective in their work within and outside the classrooms.

In his intervention, the Coordinator of the Institutional Program of Equality of Gender (PIIG), M.A. Abraham Serrato Guzmán, recognized the work of the academic who, against the mainstream, have worked for years in this topic and affirmed that having a book as "Perspectiva de género en la práctica educativa de la Universidad de Guanajuato. Aproximaciones feministas", confirms that to fulfill PIIG's objective, UG is nor parting from zero.

He was also convinced that it is not necessary to fight for a more including world "where our differences do not turn into inequalities in the academic, professional and personal space." And, as Coordinator of the PIIG, invited all female coworkers of the book to sum UGénero activities, to update the efforts and obtain the best results in the construction of a respectful culture of the human rights.
