
Celaya, Gto., November 25, 2016.- UG Brigades, a group of students of Civil Engineering from Campus Celaya-Salvatierra of the University of Guanajuato (UG), worked throughout two years in benefit of vulnerable communities of the state.
The work team led by the student Eduardo Calixto fronting the National Association of Students of Civil Engineering (ANEIC) region Bajío, dedicated to create projects such as water receivers, projects for a soccer field and the largest challenge was creating a project for a road.
The benefited communities were "El Sifón" and "Los Angeles" from the city of Apaseo el Grande, in Comonfort, they supported the community of "La Asunción" and in Doctor Mora in the community "El Mezquite."
This proposal emerged thanks to the participation of the students within ANEIC, and it is in liaison with the Presbyter Rogelio Escobar, Pastor Coordinator Migrants at the Diocese of Celaya and the approach with diverse municipal authorities.
The work team conformed by 22 students from the universities of Guanajuato, Autónoma de Puebla, Autónoma de San Martín and the Technological Institute of Zitácuaro, worked in the communities for three to four days.
Eduardo Calixto details "Leading ANEIC, was a singular experience, it helped widen my vision, there is a before and an after of my person", "now I understand that if the solution for a problem is in your hands, you must act without thinking." "I say goodbye to ANEIC closing projects, with the satisfaction to have overcome great challenges" and thank the commitment of all his partners that were with him during his commission.
At the project meeting, Mrs. María Remedios and neighbors of the communities thanked the support received. In his intervention, Rogelio Escobar, thanked the participation of the students, professors and institutions for their commitment to the project.
Para concluir, el Director de Desarrollo Económico y Turístico de Comonfort, Ing. José Luis Revilla Macías, dijo que "es un trabajo en conjunto que no se hubiese logrado si no es por la suma de voluntades", además agradeció la labor del Pbro. Rogelio y reconoció el trabajo y empeño de los estudiantes y profesores con este proyecto.
