Celaya, Gto., November 29, 2016.- Students and professors from the degree of Psychology of the Division of Health Sciences and Engineering at Campus Celaya-Salvatierra of the University of Guanajuato (UG), gathered for the presentation journeys of clinical cases.
The idea, as commented by Dr. Jonathan Galindo, is so the students can have a complementary space to their learning unit where they know from their peers, graduates and professors, a little bit more of what the clinical practice means and what it takes to attend a patient in real life.
Hence, they agreed that every semester they would make the activity with academic and cultural topics, where they have three work tables integrated by graduates, students from the seventh semester in practice and clinical cases where a professor of the degree had intervened.
This way, Prof. Jonathan Galindo added that "it will allow the students from the first to seventh semester to have an idea of what they'll face in the clinical practices and consider what skills, knowledge, attitudes and values they should work on before facing the practical work."
Within the journey, Prof. Jonathan Galindo explained the case he took in the center of psychological attention in the program of Interdisciplinary Attention to Society (PAIS), where he worked with a patient with suicidal tendencies since losing a leg, modified his way of life, and offering different strategies, the patient could work every ambience achieving a favorable progress, not only he could eliminate his suffering but there is wellbeing and he is happy.
Dr. Jazmin Quintero, expert in family therapy and M.A. Martha Elisa Fuentes and Prof. Jonathan Galindo, professors at the Division of Health Sciences and Engineering at Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, expect to continue with these activities, and they are sure that it will help the students acquire confidence when they face their patients in the clinical practices.
