
Guanajuato, Gto., December 5, 2016.- The Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG) will say goodbye to the year with a breathtaking play to renew efforts for 2017: Ludwig Van Beethoven's 9th symphony.
This legendary piece was chosen as icon of universality and hence, a hymn of peace for all nations, commented OSUG's director, M.A. Roberto Beltrán Zavala.
With support from the State Institute of Culture of the State, this play will please the attendants of the three concerts that OSUG will close the second season with.
Two of them will be held on December 9. The first at 11:00hrs in a presentation for the 1,500 outstanding professors of the Department of Education of Guanajuato (SEG); while the second will be done at night at 20:00hrs in the same place.
Saturday, December 10, the Orchestra will officially close the year with a free concert for 1,700 people in the Bicentennial Theater.
On the other hand, OSUG's director assured that 2017 will be filled of surprises, where they highlighted that it will be a year whose identity will be the celebration of the 65 years of the Orchestra.
Hence, they'll present three plays done for the occasion composed by authors of Guanajuato and university figures such as Dr. Jorge Torres Saénz, M.A. Adalberto Tovar Gómez and Dr. Francisco Javier González Compean.
Likewise, he revealed that at the same time of the traditional presentation of active Mexican composers, will play works of the caliber of Ludwig Van Beethoven, Anton Bruckner, Gustav Mahler, Dmitri Shostakovich and Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, among others.
Likewise, he announced the participation in Baroque Festival of Guanajuato, where OSUG will have a place with a program dedicated to Lucio Vivaldi.
In this sense, the OSUG's Concertino, M.A. Dimitri Kisselev, assured that the repertoire of plays presented in the last year has had a deep humane characteristic, allowing the musicians and spectators of the state to dive once again in a "spiritual experience of all humanity."
