Guanajuato, Gto., December 8, 2016.- Fourteen conferences, seven dialogues with professors, four course-workshops, two seminars, a debate table and more than twenty work meetings were some of the activities done from February to November, as part of the Class to Strengthen the Academic Excellence DCEA 2016.

Lic. Miguel Ángel Cervantes Flores, Legal Liaison of Campus Guanajuato, representing Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, Rector of such campus, oversaw the class's works at the same time he congratulated the organizers for the visible fruits obtained in benefit of the teaching practice and research.

On her part, Dr. Claudia Susana Gómez López, Director of the Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences (DCEA), recognized the arduous work done to coordinate, organize and manage the numerous activities of the class "that have had a positive impact on research, networks, discussion between peers, teacher discussion, in the experiences we have had from our fields of study, between universities and among continents."

The previous derived from the growth of the Division, hence –she said—it will continue to provide activities that promote the dialogue between teachers."

For Dr. Martha Leticia Guevara Sanginés, researcher-professor at the Department of Organization Studies and main promoter of the Class to Strengthen Excellence, was responsible to give a general panorama of the works done and the results.

She said that the class was born not from an administrative necessity, but from a concept of education as an opportunity of social improvement and the conviction of the importance for this project to strengthen the academic and research labor with international standards at DCEA, which was achieved.

Likewise, she thanked the participation of twenty-three professors, six students and four administrators who enthusiastically did all the coordination at the Division, as well as the colleagues of other universities that participated in the class such as Dr. Raúl Ruiz Callado, guest professor from the Universidad de Alicante, Spain.

The results

The Class to Strengthen the Academic Excellence included a program of academic exchange where 17 professors participated in business from universities of Colombia, Spain, Japan, UK and Mexico.

Some of the most important results were:

  • Were ratified, in facts, the existent agreements with the University of Rosario, Colombia; the universities of Granada and Alicante, Spain.
  • Agreements were open with the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, Colombia and Politécnica de Valencia and Montfort, Spain.
  • Schemes were designed for a diploma in quality for the automotive industry, a master degree in customs and a learning unit in international standards of finance reports.
  • Four conferences and six posters were presented at academic events.
  • Three master degree theses were defended and two major theses are in progress.
  • Two books were published, and two were finished. Likewise, a book chapter was written.
  • Three articles were published, and other three that still are drafts.
