León, Gto., December 8, 2016.- With the participation of students of the first semester of the degree in Nutrition, it was held the fourth edition of the "Fair of healthy and sustainable plates" where they provided information to promote an adequate nourishment, besides preventing illnesses such as obesity.

Students of the University of Guanajuato (UG) visited the Elementary School "Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez" located in the community "Las Ladrilleras del Refugio" in the city of Leon to offer food to taste to the students, professors and parents, who oversaw the information given about the plates, ingredients, health benefits, presentation and flavor.

The students presented 3 to 4 plates per team, they also offered drinks and highlighted the low cost and easy preparation.

Dzoara Elizabeth de la Cruz, UG student, mentioned the transcendence of a balanced nourishment to have a better life quality, in addition of making a physical activity.

Dr. Rebeca Monroy Torres, researcher at the Dept. of Medicine and Nutrition, commented in an interview about the importance of the event since it allows the students to approach practical and real cases, besides having a positive social impact. "The nutritionist has an important commitment in promoting healthy environments recovering a nourishment that prevents illnesses and promotes health", she explained.

With this initiative, they reaffirm UG's social commitment and the high quality professional formation of its students.
