Guanajuato, Gto., December 9, 2016. The Interinstitutional Master's Degree in Human Rights began at the University of Guanajuato (UG). This will contribute to the professionalization of human resources so they can design, execute and evaluate activities of protection and defense of the human rights.

The program was developed together with the National Commission of Human Rights (CNDH), the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur, the Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala and the Universidad Autónoma de Campeche, and it is taught at the classrooms of the participant institutions, with the vantage that the students will be able to take classes in any of them, it doesn't matter where are they enrolled.

At the founding act of the Master's, UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, sustained that public universities need to generate strategic alliances with other Houses of Study to offer new educational programs. Hence, the origins of this postgraduate, that seeks to influence in constructing a plural and democratic culture.

He pointed out that after the constitutional reform in matter of human rights from 2011, Mexico could become a reference in the subject, and it is up to the educational institutions to occupy in the formational and research ambience.

The director of the division of Law, Politics and Government (DDPG), Dr. Eduardo Pérez Alonso, wished the greatest success to whom participates in the educational program and felt safe that the personal and institutional effort will redound a reinforcement of the safeguard mechanisms of the human rights.

At the ceremony was also present, representing the Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, the Legal Liaison of the Rectory of Campus Guanajuato, M.A. Miguel Ángel Cervantes Flores; as well as the professors and students of the Master's degree and members of the university community.
