pensamiento-filosofico-jose-revueltas-universidad-guanajuato-ug-ugtoGuanajuato, Gto., December 8, 2016.- Within the International Fair of the Book of Guadalajara (FIL), as part of the Fund Guanajuato, where the University of Guanajuato (UG) and Editorial "La Rana" participate; coedited with MAPorrúa and presented the book "Los usos de la dialéctica. El pensamiento filosófico de José Revueltas."

This research book arbitrated by academic peers, is one of the most recent editorial productions of the class "Class of Philosophy and Literature José Revueltas", written by Dr. Aureliano Ortega Esquivel, Dr. Rodolfo Cortés del Moral and Dr. Javier Corona Fernández.

In an interview about the presentation, Dr. Corona referred there was a good acceptance from the public, especially from people interested in the reflective tradition or philosophical thinking in Mexico and there was, among the public, researchers from US, professors from Universities of Mexico, but also from South America and people interested in the philosophical work of José Revueltas.

The Dept. of Philosophy of the University of Guadalajara organized at the same time, one more edition of the "Banquete Filosófico" – their participation at FIL—retaking the image of the Socratic and Platonic thinking, where they invite a series of speakers, hence, they had an audience interested in the book.

Dr. Corona reminded that in 2014, the National Council for Culture and Arts (CONACULTA) re-edited along with Editorial Era, the literary work of Revueltas, but not his theoretical work, and the book "Los usos de la dialéctica. El pensamiento filosófico de José Revueltas" which makes it a reflection and a critic regarding what this author develops on his theoretic work.

Mainly the texts "México, una democracia bárbara", the "ensayo sobre un proletariado sin cabeza", "México 68: juventud, revolución" y "Dialéctica de la conciencia" where Revueltas shows his philosophical formation with a relevant perseverance, he said.

Even the prologue of "Dialéctica de la conciencia" writes about him as one of the main philosophers of the French Marxism, Henry Lefebvre, who elegantly expresses about Revueltas, where he compares him with philosophers of the critic theory mainly Theodor Adorno, observed Dr. Corona.

Also, what is proposed in this book from the professors of the department of Philosophy of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities, Aureliano Ortega, Rodolfo Cortés and Javier Corona, is that the literary work of Revueltas doesn't divert from his theoretic philosophical work, and the complement there is between both, sets Revueltas as a thinker and literate.

So, at the FIL, they realized that this author is vital for contemporary Mexico's history and despite his marginality, little by little gets more readers interested on the published book, which is his theoretic, philosophic and political work.

There is a part where they deal with topics of dialectic, related with the political analysis, but also, the dialectic of the relation with the poetic expression, so it is a book that could be discussed and criticized since it has the intention to show Revueltas in another phase, he said.

About his article, Dr. Corona revealed that the philosophical work of Revueltas could be considered as an ontology of the historical social being, because his interest relies in making a reflection and a critic of Mexico in the 50s and 60s where he lived in, considering the international environment, but interested in his country, which gives him originality and relevance to his theoretical analysis.

Dr. Corona sustained that Revueltas is still valid despite he passed away in 1976 and has a very interesting diagnosis of what in his time was called the crisis of ideologies, when the separation of URSS was coming and the socialist block, but also introduces topics of ecological devastation, of the need of a more participative society.

Revueltas is a connoisseur of the rural and urban contexts of the Mexico he lived in and its literary characters are the incarnation of what he proposes in a theoretic and philosophical level, which makes him a central author for research of what Mexico today is, socially and politically, he concluded.

The book "Los usos de la dialéctica. El pensamiento filosófico de José Revueltas", can be acquired at the recently inaugurated University Bookstore, informed Dr. Corona, who celebrated the initiative because it will be a window where UG shows what's done in research and creation.
