Guanajuato, Gto., December 15, 2016- With six students of the High School College of the University of Guanajuato (UG), was formed the delegation that will represent the state and UG in the XXVI National Olympics of Chemistry.

The students that compose the delegation went through several stages, where there was a preselection of 16 young high schoolers who were in training since last October under the supervision of Victor M. Mejía Cobos.

Dr. Jesús Raúl Lugo Martínez, State Delegate of the Olympics, highlighted that this time the Olympics was made under a different scheme to offer more coverage in the state and a proof was the historical participation of 305 registered students, from which 102 went to the final stage; for the previous and in successive evaluations were selected the 6 students who will represent the state in the XXVI National Olympics of Chemistry.

The students that compose the delegation are: Cinthya Ximena Luna González, Ángel Eduardo García Hernández, Uriel Maldonado Hernández from HS León, Daniel Leonardo Lozano Alvarado, Ricardo Jaramillo Hernández, Esteban Veloz Muñoz from HS Centro Histórico León, advised by professors Miguel Ángel Ruíz Torres from HS Centro Histórico León, Ana Cristina Esqueda Oliva y Salvador Rentería Hernández from HS León.

The national venue of the National Olympics of Chemistry will be the city of San Luis Potosí in March 2017, there, the young students will continue to achieve more medals for the state and UG. It is important to mention that in past edition in the XXV National Olympics of Chemistry held in Guanajuato, the delegation obtained two bronze medals and three silver medals.
