Guanajuato, Gto., a 12 de enero de 2017. Students of the major in Education of at the University of Guanajuato (UG) took, for the third year in a row, clothes, toys and food to the children of ten communities in the city of Guanajuato.

Olivia Elizabeth Quezada González and Alma Delia Ríos Vázquez are the two students leading a project that consists in sponsoring and look for donators to fulfill the wishes of the children in rural schools which they wrote to the three kings.

The little ones give the letters to their children, and they deliver the letters to college students, who collect toys, clothes, shoes, blankets and groceries to take to communities like Ojo de Agua de Medina, El Varal, Cimientos, Rancho de en medio, Cumbres del Guapillo, Cañada de la Virgen, El Potrero, El Laurel, San Bartolo & Picones.

Olivia Elizabeth Quezada explained that the project began three years ago, as part of her professional formation, she visited the mentioned communities and realized "how the children live and play with". It was then when she decided to organize a gift delivery, in the day of the three kings.

The response achieved throughout three years, allows that they can take presents to ten communities and neighborhoods in the city of Guanajuato, such as Maravillas. In addition, as part of the activities, they take to rural zones, artistic workshops, reading encouragement activities and organize a visit to museums in Guanajuato.

For the students of the major in Education, participating in this project, works as social service, even though there are many college students of this and other educational programs who collaborate as volunteers or as "godfathers."

Civil organizations such as Arcoiris and Institutions such as the National Council of Educational Encouragement (CONAFE), have also been involved.

Given the excellent response they obtained this year, UG students will make another delivery in the next months to come, so they invited everyone who would like to help with donations of toys (used or new), clothes, shoes, blankets and non-perishable food, since the aid extends to all the habitants in the vulnerable zones.
