Guanajuato, Gto., January 16, 2017.- This Friday, January 20th, the first generation of the Master Degree in Applied Linguistics to Teaching English will graduate; an academic program taught from January 2015 to December 2016 at the Department of Languages of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities (DCSH) and has positioned as one of the most solid in the national level.
On the matter, Dr. César Federico Macías Cervantes, DCSH's Director, celebrated this postgraduate, parting from a joint work between professors and students, that was evaluated before the National Council of Science and Technology (CONAcyT) in its National Census of Quality Postgraduates (PNPC) on August 2015 and, in September 2015, obtained the distinction to belong to the PNPC as new creation program.
This Master´s degree, he explained, seeks to form highly specialized and qualified professionals in areas related to teaching English, with skill in professional research on acquiring languages, applicable in the real needs of the institutions, seeking their efficiency, competitivity and relevance in a national and international ambience; capable of interacting with multidisciplinary and multicultural groups through the comprehension of culture and language.
In that sense, as people formed in applied linguistics, the graduates have a broad field of work, he said, because not only could they apply their knowledge in the teaching—learning processes of English, which is the specialization base, but the bases they have will allow them to develop and apply to teaching languages in general.
Dr. Macías Cervantes indicated that entering the PNPC is an incentive so the professional development of the graduates may be successful and at the same time, promote the program itself, so, there are great expectations regarding new entries and the quality in the education of the new generations.
