comienza-ciclo-de-solistas-de-la-osug-ug-ugtoGuanajuato, Gto., January 25, 2017.- The Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG) begins with its cycle "OSUG Soloists" with a concert offered by the Ensemble Zephyrus.

Such ensemble is formed by the orchestra musicians as an initiative by its founder and coordinator Héctor Fernández. From its beginning, the ideals and motivations of the group were the excellence and proper musical performance in chamber music.

For this concert, the ensemble will play "Quintet in B flat major for breath instruments op. 56 no. 1" of the composer Franz Danzi.

The music analyst, Josep Jofré i Fradera considers that "these quintets are immensely polished both in technique and expression, and are wonderfully adapted for the instruments."

Afterwards, the ensemble will play the "Concert no. 2 in D minor on a Vivaldi's concert" of Johann Sebastian Bach. From this Josep Jofré i Fradera remarks that the instrumental effects and contrasts of this Vivaldi's concert is brightened up by the transcription of Bach's organ player, especially regarding the capability to highlight the melodic lines on the accompaniment, capability shown very clearly in the version for quintet played by the Ensemble Zephyrus in the concert.

Then, they will play French music with the play "Jeux d'Enfants op. 22" of Georges Bizet. On the matter, the music analyst says that the play grants a show of composition resources, alternating slow pieces with fast.

To finalize, the attendants would hear the "Quintet for breath instruments" of Paul Taffanel. Josep Jofré i Fradera indicates that the play attaches to the classic canons of sillfully alternating three movements (fast – slow – fast). The first and third movements (Allegro with motto and Vivace, respectively) are structured as a sonnet, while the main andante develops as a romanza.

It is worth mentioning that next Friday, January 27, 2017's concert at 20:30hrs is the first in a series that will be held in the General Auditorium of the University of Guanajuato. For more information, schedules and booth times, please visit the following siteww.ugto.mx/osug
