
Guanajuato, Gto., January 27, 2017.- With the common purpose to strengthen the interinstitutional postgraduates that offer the public universities of the Central Western Region (RCO) of the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES), a work meeting was held at the University of Guanajuato (UG).
At the meeting, UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino was present, and emphasized in the need to generate innovating strategies together, since "the universities can be autonomous, but not self-sufficient", he sustained.
Likewise, exposed that one of the objectives of the Normative Reform that is currently on its way in the House of Studies, is the flexibilization if the processes to ease the collaboration with other institutions.
Hence, he offered utter support from the General Rectory to support the works from the Committee of Interinstitutional Postgraduates of the Public Universities of RCO, that are currently presided by UG.
The president of the Committee of Interinstitutional Postgraduates of RCO's Public Universities and Director of Support for Research and Postgraduate of UG, Dr. Mauro Napsuciale Mendívil, said that this encounter represents an opportunity to exchange ideas, proposals and expectations.
During the session, they handed a recognition for the work done inside the Committee to Dr. Sara Griselda Martínez Covarrubias and M. Benjamín Alcaraz Anguiano, of the Universidad de Colima, who preceded Dr. Mauro in such instance.
Before representatives of the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes, the Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit, Universidad de Colima, Universidad de Guadalajara and Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, the Academic Secretary of UG, Dr. Raúl Arias Lovillo, exhorted to reinforce the scientific labor of the universities to give solutions to large national problems.
At the session, there was a presentation, from the Technical Secretaries of the Academic Councils, of the status of the interinstitutional master degrees in Protected Agriculture, in Livestock Production; and interinstitutional doctorates in Psychology, Art & Culture, Solidary Social Economy, Climate Change and Law.
They also referred to the interinstitutional doctorate in Architecture, the first of its kind –in a national level—to obtain the level of International Competence, achievement to which RCO's Committee of Interinstitutional Postgraduates contributed.
