Interviewed about this encounter, Dr. Rodolfo Cortés del Moral, Director of the Department of Philosophy, reminded that this is the ninth edition of the colloquium, with international guests and university colleagues from other states of the republic. The event has the main purpose to present essays from the thesis students in master and doctorate degrees, as well as professors and advisors of both programs.

There is a wide participation that even forced to add more days to the encounter, he said, and highlighted that in this ninth edition the number of external participants increased and it passed the number of the internal, which could be understood as a sign that it had an echo and its fulfilling its function.

"Although the fundamental purpose is academic, these connections with other colleagues to what it aims to create a wider community and above all in these times, where philosophy is not well seen institutionally and the intention is to manifest that despite the official posture of the State, in that matter, both the university and outside community, there's a positive and growing interest on the development of the philosophy", he sustained.

There is even a positive willingness in the sense that many non-academic people, manifest their interest and their strangeness because philosophy doesn't occupy a more outstanding place in culture and institutionalized education, assured Dr. Cortés, who noted that, facing this situation, an event of this matters aims to reveal that philosophy is not only a matter of academics.

About the central topic of the colloquium, Dr. Cortés explained that they seek to countersign what the Greek said: that philosophy has no problems, doesn't invent problems, but what it does is to formulate in depth the problems that each society and each time face, both objectively and subjectively.

So, it is set on theoretic reflection what the characteristic problems of the contemporary society are, they try to invite to the collective reflection, that stimulate, claim attention and reflection of all the individuals.

This IX Colloquium will have the participation of Dr. Ángel Xolocotzi, from Mexico; Dr. Rafael Plá, of Cuba and Dr. Patricia Brunsteins of Argentina, among other researchers.
