Guanajuato, Gto., February 7, 2017.- With the purpose to commemorate the Centenary of the Political Constitution of the United States of Mexico, throughout the year, there will be a series of activities at the University of Guanajuato (UG) that go from presentations of books, seminars, colloquiums, even an international congress to finalize the festivities.

The previous, was announced by UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino at the Ceremony of Inauguration of the Commemorative University Program of the Centenary of the Constitution.

UG's General Rector highlighted the importance of generating reflection, discussion and a deep study of 1917's Constitution today, since it is one that reflects the essence and values of a country, besides being a document that contains a political, historical and philosophical part of our homeland.

In his message, he listed the activities that will be held at UG throughout the year, such events engulf topics of interest such as the elaboration of the commented work "The political constitution of the United States of Mexico", the student colloquium "The great constitutional reforms", the seminar "The constitution in debate", the colloquium "Women and 1917's Constitution. A century of visible transformations", and the international congress "Challenges of the contemporary constitutionalism", just to mention some of the commemorative events that will consume until next November.

In the celebrations' frame, the first activity of such program was held, the presentation of the book "Actual topics of Constitutional Law".

Scholars M. Lucy Rico and M. Jesús Arellano worked as presenters of the play and in their speech described the book as a compendium of 23 articles made by specialists in constitutional law that address topics such as human rights, contributions to an institutional control model, analysis of penal law, good public administration, slavery, secularism, among others.

Likewise, at the event, the Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta spoke about the essence of a constitution, describing it as the sum of all real power factors of a country, so she invited all the college students to make a civil exercise and approach the constitution to know it and know more about its content.

Likewise, the Director of the Political Division, Law and Government joined the invitation of the Rector of Campus, emphasizing that is relevant to analyze the 1917's Constitution in our historical moment so in that way, celebrate the centenary of our Magnus Letter.

At the event were also present: UG's Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa; Rector of Campus Leon, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo; the Academic Secretary of the Division of Law, Politics and Government, Dr. Ricardo Rodríguez Luna, and the Director of the Department of Law, Dr. Leandro Eduardo Astrain.
