Guanajuato, Gto., February 8, 2017.- One of the youngest and remarkable directors today, Min Chung, will be the special guest in the concert of the Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG) which will be offered this February 10th at 20:30hrs in the Teatro Juárez.
This is the first-time Min Chung travels to Latin America and visiting a city like Guanajuato in Mexico, full of contrasts and colors, has provoked in him a special sensation that fills him with energy to make his debut as director in Latin America with OSUG.
With an important international projection where diverse presentations standout such as his debut with the National Symphonic Orchestra RAI of Turin, a special concert in Beijing with the soprano Sumi Jo and the Philharmonic of China, a concert of contemporary music with the ensemble Bernasconi in La Scala, and some concerts with the Philharmonic of Tokyo in East Asia and Europe, Min Chung arrives to Guanajuato to present the audience a repertoire that includes the prestigious composers: Ludwig van Beethoven, Gioacchino Rossini and Igor Stravinsky.
Min Chung mentioned that one of the main reason that took him to become an orchestra director was the greatness of music, to which he described as the universal language capable to unite emotions. "For me, music is the deepest and most direct form of communication, one that words are unnecessary, but there are many sensations to transmit."
The guest director was enthusiastic for his debut in Mexico with OSUG, "there is a good atmosphere in the orchestra, everybody is ready to work and that has been incredible. It is very special for me to be here and play prestigious composers, it is natural for me to direct these pieces, even when it is the first time in Mexico."
Based on the annotations of the musicologist Josep Jofré I Fradera, we know that the concert will begin with "the Symphony no.6 in F major, op. 68, Pastoral" continuing with the cycle "Regarding Beethoven", play defined as "a reflection of men facing the pureness of life".
OSUG will continue the piece "Obertura La gazza ladra" of Gioacchino Rossini, an opera from the script of a theatric melodrama that tells the story of a domestic worker who is suspect of a robbery and sentenced to death. Then saved when the guilty is a crow.
To finalize, the attendants will listen "The bird of fire" of Igor Stravisnky. This piece was the first work Stravinsky received of Diaghilev for the Russian Ballets of Paris.
Lastly, the director invited all the public to attend the concert and be pleased by an eclectic repertoire that sums different composers from different periods which results in a pleasure for the ears. For more information, please visit the following site: www.ugto.mx/osug
