
Guanajuato, Gto., February 9, 2017.- Researchers of the University of Guanajuato (UG) and the University of Hiroshima share their knowledge and experiences in the seminar "The impact of the industrial activity in the environment", held at the Magnus spaces of the Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences (DCEA).
The event involves the industrial, government, professor and student sectors, especially the engineering area.
While inaugurating the activities, UG's Academic Secretary, Dr. Raúl Arias-Lovillo, pointed out that there is a growing interest to measure and mitigate the impact of the industrial activity, and sustained that we have a lot to learn from the Japanese experience in the subject.
In addition, he highlighted that for the House of Studies it is very important to continue reinforcing this relation with other universities, "because it is always better to build bridges of collaboration than walls that separate us."
UG's Director of International Relationships and Academic Collaboration, Dr. Sergio Antonio Silva, mentioned that the event is relevant for UG and the state, since in Guanajuato currently has approximately 200 industries established, which forces to reflect on the impact of them on the environment.
He detailed that on February 8-9 there will be activities such as conferences and analysis tables that will allow to explain what UG and the University of Hiroshima have been doing to address the impact of these industries establishment, as well as alternate energy sources and strategies to remediate polluted places.
Besides, a Japanese businessman will participate, Jyun Takagi, who will speak about the "Environmental Protection in the Construction" and M. Guadalupe Blancarte-Garnica of the Department of Public Construction, with the topic "Environmental impact on road projects: Experiences and prospective."
At the inauguration, Dr. Hirami Naotaka, professor of the Research Center and Collaborative Cooperation of the University of Hiroshima, who thanked the opportunity to collaborate in this event, that allows to retribute to Guanajuato something of what he learned during his time in the state.
