History

On February 10, 1961 under the acronym XEUG, the radio station received the authorization from the Department of Communication and Transport for its legal functioning.

Radio Universidad de Guanajuato was the fourth university radio in the country, after Radio UNAM, from San Luis Potosí and Radio Veracruz. Since its foundation, it became an alternative in the radiophonic quadrant thanks to the vision of the then rector, M. Eugenio Trueba Olivares.

Since 1972, Radio Universidad de Guanajuato covers the International Cervantine Festival (FIC) and since then, has recorded and transmitted –live and differed—different concerts through their frequencies.

The radio is a member of the Association of Public and University Radios of Latin America and the Caribbean (ARPULAC); of the Network of Radio stations and Educational and Cultural TV Broadcasters of Mexico A.C. (Red México) and the Network of University Radios of Mexico (RRUM).
