
León, Gto., February 10, 2017.- For the second year in a row, the University of Guanajuato (UG) will be part of the Festival of Arts, Sciences and Humanities, which will project to society the collaborative work in three currents summoned by the National School of Higher Studies (ENES) Unit León, of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
In a press conferences, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez, Rector of Campus León, highlighted the team work between the participating institutions, and expressed that the key of success is "the union of society and government". He added that the Maximum House of Studies of the entity will actively participate in the trends of arts, sciences and humanities and so reaffirm its social commitment.
The festival will be held in the city of Leon, Guanajuato, from February 23-26, 2017, and the stage will be the several venues of the city: Cultural Forum Guanajuato (Bicentennial Theater, Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato and Calzada de las Artes), Plaza of the Citizenship Griselda Álvarez, the auditorium Jorge Ibargüengoitia of UG campus Leon, the State Central Library Wigberto Jiménez Moreno, the Founders Plaza, the jardín de los Niños Héroes and the National School of Higher Studies, Unit León.
As a closing act stands out the participation of the Folkloric Ballet of the University of Guanajuato, programmed for Sunday February 26th at 19:00hrs at Calzada de las Artes of Cultural Forum Guanajuato. The presence of UG's Estudiantina and the presentation of the play "Alicia's world", a space created by students of the Division of Sciences and Engineering of Campus León to approach children and teenagers to the world of science.
Friday February 24, there will be the participation of health units to detect diabetes; also, there will be a talk by Dr. Sergio Márquez Gamiño, professor-researcher of the Division of Sciences of Health called "Living with diabetes", programmed in the plaza of the citizenship Griselda Álvarez.
On the other hand, at the venue Forum of Campus León, there will be talks for elementary students with topics as organ donation, detectors of cosmic rays and thermodynamic.
Likewise, there will be a talk in the Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato titles "Fred and the wolf in the XXI century: Communication media and the use of emotions to influence in society", taught by another researcher at UG, Dr. Luis Felipe García y Barragán.
At the press conference, outstood the presence of Dr. Arturo Joel Padilla Córdova, Director of Cultural Forum Guanajuato; Dr. Javier de la Fuente Hernández, ENES Director Unit León; M. Liliana Pérez Estrada, General Coordinator of the State Central Library "Wigberto Jiménez Moreno"; M. Amelia Chávez Padilla, Director of the Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato; M. Carlos Alfredo Torres Moreno, Director of City's Education & Dr. Elder De la Rosa Cruz, Director of the Optics Research Center (CIO).
