Guanajuato, Gto., February 10, 2017.- The 56 years that Radio Universidad of Guanajuato, reflect that they're part of our university life but also from our identity as a city, assured the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, in the celebration of this communication media.

In a live transmission from the emblematic place Teatro Juárez, the General Rector sustained that "Radio Universidad is a project of the University for society", through which they divulge the contributions of the Maximum House of Studies, from teaching, research, technological development, even critic proposals.

In that sense, he commented, that Radio Universidad is part of a superior project that without a doubt is part of the Development Plan of Institutional Development 2010-2020: to serve society and diverse audiences that compose it with a space for divulgation of knowledge and humanistic expression.

Hence, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino thanked who have made Radio UG possible, from the rectors who have believed in the projects, anchors, musicians, technics and, above all, the faithful listeners that follow their programs.

Radio Universidad of Guanajuato was the fourth university radio in the country, after Radio UNAM, from San Luis Potosí and Radio Veracruz. Since its foundation, it became an alternative in the radiophonic quadrant thanks to the vision of the then rector, M. Eugenio Trueba Olivares.

As part of the celebration for its 56-year foundation, Radio Universidad offered a live transmission of programs such as como 'Radio itinerante', 'Gaceta Universitaria', 'Más que el ruido', 'Café Radio UG', 'El espacio del oyente', 'El librero', 'Jazz', 'De cocina y otras maravillas', 'Polifemo de oro', 'Radio teatro', 'Tiempo de niños y niñas'.
