Guanajuato, Gto., February 16, 2017. With the purpose to recognize the role Mexican women have had throughout a century in the origin and changes of the Constitution, as well as the impact of these in their life as citizens, the University of Guanajuato (UG) invites to participate in the Colloquium "Women and the Constitution of 1917. A century of visible transformations".

The academic event will be held within the International Day of the Women, on March 8th, and the Commemorative University Program for the Centenary of the Political Constitution of the United States of Mexico, in the Magnus spaces of Campus Guanajuato.

Through the colloquium, they seek to propitiate the convergence of experiences and shared analysis for the academic, management personnel and representatives of public institutions of the civil society.

All the work must include three elements: Constitution, women and one or more of the topics: Education, Human Rights, right to vote, Indigenous groups, Culture, Work, Energy, Free press, Equality/Equity; Representativeness, Land tenancy and Health

The deadline to send the abstract (which has a maximum of 250 words) of the talks, is next February 21st, and the extended work is March 5th.

The Academic Committee will evaluate the proposals and select the one considered to have relevance regarding the summon. The accepted proposals will communicate with the due anticipation to each one of the participants.
