
Guanajuato, Gto., February 16, 2017.- With the purpose to recognize the cinematographic work done towards the legal narrative, they presented the book "Cinefilia con Derecho" at the Hall of Acts of the Division of Law, Politics and Government of the University of Guanajuato.
This publication is a compilation of the opinion columns written by Dr. Rubén Díaz López in the newspaper "La Jornada de Aguascalientes". 49 texts of the 300 articles published since 2010 until October 2016 compose this book. At the same time, it is composed of three essays about the columns.
At the presentation, UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino highlighted the importance of "who writes has an enormous responsibility to exhibit what he things and be open to any idea, equal or similar, opposite or contrary to what is written. It is also the summon for the expression, to express what we think and write it thoroughly in the thinking, tending to creativity, imagination and the right to have fun with what we do."
Dr. Ricardo Rodríguez Luna, Academic Secretary of the Division of Law, Politics and Government who was the presentation's moderation commented: "it is an honor for me to present this work where the author, little by little unravels and shows us some of the relations between Law and the so called 7th Art."
Likewise, M. Jesús Eduardo Martín Jáuregui, President of the State Commission of Human Rights of Aguascalientes said that: "certainly the intention of the author to fuse chronic and essay has a background in the Mexican journalism of making the chronic from the monographic lens or the theme of a character, in this case of a movie chosen as the receiver of the letter."
On his part, Dr. Eduardo Leandro Astraín Bañuelos, Director of the Department of Law of UG, commented: "Rubén Díaz evidences his concern for the limited legislation in the subjects of Cultural Law, the cultural heritage both in material and unmaterial, is at constant risk of wars, economic interests and public policies that have little concern to promote art and culture."
The author of the book remarked that through columns is how he was able to manifest having the only objective to participate and generate public argument, Dr. Rubén Díaz López commented: "the book is a mix of movies and Law. Somehow, I chose this vehicle because it is a very flexible door, sometimes Law is labeled as a rigid topic, edgy. So, parting from different movies, I address the political or legal topics and this allows me to be part of the public opinion."
The columnist and Ph.D. in Law, emphasized that now more than ever, what it is more important is the public discussion, the subject of the opinion must be stretched to the maximum and restrain it the least.
