León, Guanajuato a 16 de febrero de 2017.- Seeking to reflect on culture and heritage, the third edition of the Seminar of Culture and Heritage will be held at Campus León of the University of Guanajuato (UG). This event is organized by the academic body "Interdisciplinary Studies on Culture", ascribed to the Department of Cultural Studies of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Dr. Alejandro Mercado Villalobos, member of the academic body "Interdisciplinary Studies about Culture" and coordinator of the event, informed in a press conference: "This time, the seminar enriches with the participation of researchers of the Universidad de Guadalajara, Campus Lagos de Moreno. We are weaving a network of collaboration with the academic body of this institution called "Culture and Society." He added that there will be the presence of historians, sociologists, anthropologists and architects.

This edition will have two axes: cultural heritage, which will be addressed during the first semester of the year, so from August to December, it will be about the historical downtowns. A monthly session will be held in the Jorge Ibargüengoitia auditorium of the venue Forum, beginning at 10:00hrs with a free entrance.

In the first session scheduled for Wednesday February 22nd will participate Dr. Arturo Joel Padilla Córdova, Director of the Cultural Forum Guanajuato who will give the master conference "The cultural heritage in the contemporary thinking", at the end, they'll have the presence of Dr. David Carbajal López of the Universidad de Guadalajara, who will address the topic of the religious procession, considered as cultural heritage by the researchers.

Some of the topics that will be treated throughout the year is the one of indigenous languages at the city of Leon and violence and social pain. The main product of these sessions will be reflected in a book publishing.

On the other hand, it was mentioned that there is a great project to create a interinstitutional doctorate between the University of Guanajuato and the Universidad of Guadalajara, that somehow will have an impact of the formation of the cultural heritage.

The University of Guanajuato integrates the seminar with the doctors José de Jesús Cordero Domínguez, responsible of the academic body, Carlota Laura Meneses Sánchez, Alejandro Mercado Villalobos and Morelos Torres Aguilar.

Regarding the Universidad de Guadalajara, the seminar is integrated by the researchers Eduardo Camacho Mercado, David Carbajal López, Roberto Castelán Rueda, Cristina Isabel Castellano, responsible of the academic body, Ma. Socorro Hernández Barajas, Juan Pío Martínez and Rosa Maria Spinoso Arcocha.
