Guanajuato, Gto., February 16, 2017.- The works of the VIII Interinstitutional Colloquium of Postgraduates in History began, which from February 15-17, will be held at the "Ernesto Scheffler" auditorium of the venue Valenciana of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities (DCSH) of Campus Guanajuato.

In name of Dr. César Federico Macías Cervantes, DCSH' Director; Dr. Graciela Velázquez Delgado, Director of the Department of History, inaugurated the Colloquium, in which students from the Master degree in History Studies of the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro and Master degree in History (Interdisciplinary History Studies) of the University of Guanajuato participate.

Dr. Velázquez Delgado manifested her satisfaction for the beginning of the eighth edition of the Colloquium, that sounds easy but implies a great work from the professors and students for years, which is only possible thanks to the agreement of the institutions and authorities.

She remembered that from these encounters have resulted numerous products, from projects, presentations, talks and of course, theses, reason why she exhorted them to use the individual and collective experiences, from which, each one of the participants would create a product, generally, the degree thesis.

"Let us use this space to reaffirm bonds with history, with our doing to convince future historians to be critic, since they are who could give new interpretations to what is already established", Dr. Velázquez concluded.

Also, Dr. Margarita Espinosa Blas, Director of the Faculty of Philosophy and Languages of the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro (UAQ), pronounced in favor of strengthening the formation of both groups of students of both universities.

As member of the teaching staff of the Master in History Studies, she manifested her pleasing for the reinforcement of the solidary and friendship nexus in both institutions, which results in the collaborative work and in their research papers, besides the accompaniment of the formative process of their master degree.

To the opening ceremony attended Dr. Gerardo Martínez Delgado, Coordinator of the Master in History, Interdisciplinary History Studies at UG, and Dr. Cecilia del Socorro Landa Fonseca, coordinator of the Master in History Studies and Chief of Research and Postgraduate of UAQ's Faculty of Philosophy.
