Guanajuato, Gto., February 21, 2017.- The Horror Film Festival Aurora of the University of Guanajuato (UG), celebrates its twelfth edition from February 27th to March 4th, with a special programme that has the topic of "Remakes".

Reason why it will present in the movie forum of the stairway of the Central Building, representative examples of renowned movies such as "Halloween", "Psycho" and "The Texas Massacre", retaken in all cases by the big directors with greater or less success sought to rescue the films and present them with an actual look of the new generations.

The previous was announced in a press conference at the Mesón de San Antonio, place where the director of Cultural Extension, Dr. Sara Julsrud highlighted that it is the only horror film festival in a university in the country and it is the second most ancient that has been done with uninterrupted editions also in the country.

Besides having as venues, the Euquerio Guerrero Auditorium, the Mesón de San Antonio, UG's General Auditorium and the university stairway, the Festival will be present in the four campi and in the High School College, with different projections of both feature and short films; mentioned the movie club coordinator, Lic. Montserrat Alejandri.

Alejandro Montes Santamaría, director and founder of the Festival of the Horror Film Festival Aurora, commented that, as in every edition, the inauguration will be done with a Mexican movie, hence this time "La región salvaje" of Amat Escalante will be presented. He was awarded as the best director in the festival in Venice. This event will be held on Monday February 27th at 20:00hrs at UG's General Auditorium.

The director of the Festival also commented that, for this edition, there was a selection of 51 short films from different countries such as Italy, Spain, Mexico, France, Russia, Germany, Switzerland, Argentina, Uruguay, Honk Kong and Luxemburg, and will be enjoyable at the Euquerio Guerrero Auditorium, venue of the Movie Club UG, and at the Mesón de San Antonio.

Likewise, he mentioned that "the Horror Film Festival Macabre accompanies us for the sixth time in the program with the screening of short films from its international selection and the Mexican feature film "Hysteria" of Carlos Meléndez.

Finally, in addition of the cinematographic activities, the photo expo "Alegorias de la oscuridad" of the artists Charles De Graaf, Mateusz Obara and Rafael Luna, in the gallery "El Atrio" will be presented starting February 27th.

It is precise to mention that due to the relevance and position the Horror Film Festival Aurora has occupied, the cinema of the University of Colima will be inaugurated with the programming of the Festival, in addition it will have itinerancies in cities such as Leon and Aguascalientes.
