
León, Gto., February 21, 2017.- "As a graduate from the Major in Sciences of the Physical Activity and Health, I will have the opportunity to address social problems, make promotion of health, treat diseases and improve the quality of life of the population in many areas". These were the words of Luis Carlos Anguiano, who was excited to finish his studies and be part of the Class of 2017 of such program.
On her part, Mariana Ordoñez González –also a graduate—mentioned in an interview, the opportunity she had to make a stay abroad, which allowed her to strengthen her preparation. "What better to dedicate to something that you're passionate about and develop professionally in several areas and address health problems", she mentioned.
In an academic ceremony, 16 students of the University of Guanajuato (UG) received the record of finishing their studies, which makes them the third generation to graduate from the Major in Sciences of the Physical Activity and Health.
M. Juan Carlos Mora Hernández, General Coordinator of Academic Support, gave a message on behalf of the Rector of Campus León, where he recognized the effort made by the students, besides he highlighted the mission that the University of Guanajuato has to contribute in increasing the percentage of graduate students and prepared in postgraduate programs.
At the ceremony, Dr. José Guadalupe Montaño, Coordinator of the Major, mentioned the commitment the graduates acquire and the need to face the social needs such as obesity, mal nourishment and lack of physical activity.
Also, at the ceremony, in the presidium was Dr. Tonatiuh García Campus; Director of the Division of Health Sciences and Dr. María Teresa Melchor Moreno; Director of the Department of Applied Sciences to Work.
