León, Gto., February 27, 2017.- With a show, full of charm and joy, the Folkloric Ballet of the University of Guanajuato (BAFUG), closed the second edition of the Arts, Sciences and Humanities Festival at the Calzada de las Artes.
The place was full of enthusiast viewers, who enjoyed the choreographies of a program titles "Tradiciones de Mexico" (Traditions of Mexico). From the beginning until the end, the event turned into a visual pleasure thanks to the movements of the dancers and colorful clothes.
BAFUG placed the public in a journey by several states of the Mexican Republic, turning up the spirit and the festivity thanks to the music and dances of Nayarit, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Nuevo León, Veracruz, Guanajuato, just to mention some.
To the rhythm of sonnets, jarabes and polkas, BAFUG's dancers managed to portray the cultural diversity and beauty of the traditions of our country, by transforming their presentation in a party where the public began dancing with the members of the ballet.
Under the direction of Roberto Martínez Rocha, --who currently has a 20-year experience—the dancers surprised for their impeccable coordination and enthusiasm in every movement.
The most representative popular songs of Mexico such as "La llorona", "La Bamba", filled the night with joy, since, children, youth and adults, applauded and smiled, claiming another dance when the show reached the end.
It is worth mentioning that BAFUG, one of their main purposes is to rescue and preserve the ethnic-dancing-musical process of the country; the group performs research with the purpose to know, preserve and sustain the traditions of the state of Guanajuato and Mexico, as part of our cultural heritage. Likewise, the university baller is preoccupied for transmitting the regional dances as an artistic expression that gathers identities, traditions and ways of life.
BAFUG's talent, constancy and discipline have taken them to obtain the maximum recognition of the national and international audience, so the university artistic group has presented in several scenarios of Mexico and abroad, has toured by United States, France, Belgium, Switzerland, among other regions.
It is important to mention that next Saturday March 18 at 19:00hrs, BAFUG will present for the first time in one of the most emblematic places of the country, the "Palacio de Bellas Artes". For that occasion, they will play a choreographic repertoire called "Guanajuato, tierra y tradición".
Attended: UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino; Rector of Campus Leon, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez and the director of the National School of Higher Studies of UNAM Unit Leon, M. Javier de la Fuente Hernández.
