León, Gto., February 28, 2017.- With the objective to offer a space for the divulgation of science, there were three talks as part of the activities of the Second Festival of Arts, Sciences and Humanities, first, Dr. Irais Amaranta Quintero and the student Jorge Alfonso Tavares were responsible of the talk "Take out organs" where they addressed the importance of biomaterials, its application, future perspectives and research lines where they work to offer alternatives to improve the quality of life to society.
In an interview, Jorge Alfonso Tavares commented the importance of taking science to children and get them involved in research topics in relevant aspects such as biomaterials since their use is more common. "Biomaterials have been around for many years, and every time they are permeating more into society and their application is important, hence, its research will bring a greater development", he mentioned.
Afterwards, Dr. Julián Félix Valdez commented the different research projects in which he collaborates to create "Detectors of cosmic rays", topic with which he developed the cosmic ray's phenomena, its nature and possible applications and technology for their research.
Dr. Félix allowed the attendants to handle the detectors which were created at the Laboratory of Elemental Particles where he collaborates with UG students. He mentioned the importance of science in everyday life and encouraged the attendants to ask questions about the cosmic rays, the importance of its study and the role it has in the universe's evolution. "Science is the door to develop benefits in many ways, what is necessary is to work in research and change the idea that science is complicated" he highlighted.
Lastly, Dr. Alejandro Gil-Villegas Montiel addressed aspects of science with the tile "Our past, present and thermodynamic future" where he made an analysis that gave place to reflection of the attendants on the different scientists who have contributed in the generation of knowledge and developing technology based on thermodynamic. Also, he highlighted the risks and benefits of the uses of technology and energies which are used in thermodynamics and the path research in the world will take.
